Velvety, healthy, guilt-free delicious, this easy sauce will put your veggies and noodles to a new level. What's best? It can be done in 5 minutes, GO!
What you will need for about 4 servings:
- 3 tablespoons sesame oil - 1/4 cup peanut butter - 1/4 cup Toyomansi (this is a Filipino soy sauce mixed with calamansi juice - similar to lime juice. If you can't find Toyomansi in your Asian supermarket, replace for regular soy sauce and add a squeeze of lime juice or use the Japanese version: Ponzu sauce) - 2 tablespoons rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon coconut sugar - 1 teaspoon turmeric - 1 can, or 400ml coconut milk - Salt and pepper to taste
1. In a sauce pan, heat up coconut milk, sesame oil, peanut butter and Toyomansi.
2. Add the remaining ingredients and stir until your sauce becomes velvety and the coconut sugar has completely dissolved. Ét voila, your sauce is ready!
This recipe is based on a 5 minute effort. If you have some minutes extra, give some more dept to your sauce! Start with adding sesame oil to a pan and sauté a finely chopped clove of garlic, a thumb of ginger and a small onion for about 2 minutes or until soft. Then add the remaining ingredients and stir until done.
This sauce is delicious with Asian rice noodles, grilled tofu or some veggies. You can go as simple or feisty as you want by added coconut flakes, toasted seeds, spring onion or finely grated lemongrass.
